Holy mother of god. I don't remember how my husband found volume 1, but I am eternally grateful he did! This series is absolutely phenomenal, the characters feel like I could go visit them for drinks, and the tension and beauty of the art is absolutely astounding.

By all means read this. But not first. Go back and catch up on Sunstone 1-3. Then grab Sunstone 5Continuing the story from Sunstone 1-3. And I'm definitely glad they were all already out when I started this series.Good read. My series review from Sunstone 1 copied below for reference (I read them all before writing any reviews)The world is a wide place. Full of strangeness, and gems like this.First, address the elephant in the room: this series is set in context and world of BDSM and fetishwear. It is assuredly NSFW, and if kinks, homosexuality, nudity, erotic themes and situations, and dialog about nonstandard sexual preference and practice is going to bother you, ye have been warned.That being said, I started this on recommendation**, honestly because Sunstone had seriously outraged someone else so I figured it'd be good for at least a glance. And oh my, but there is a story there. This is a story addressing loneliness. About the communities around us, visible and otherwise. The connections we need, we crave to be human***. Too, it talks about consent, kinks, lifestyles, hobbies, and nerding out, treating them fairly.The artwork in the series is lovely, drawn in varying degrees of realistic tones and proportions (not chibi or cartoon-y, with occasional semi-photographic style or cartoonish look for bookends or emphasis)** If it helps, this was recommended by a librarian in charge of their graphic novel curation.*** not going for the obvious bondage joke there, but feel free to reference it if you wish

Sejic's fourth volume of Sunstone is the obligatory dramatic climax of the S&M themed rom/com with the relationship between Lisa and Ally hitting its dramatic flourish. With both women secretly in love with the other and the added knot of their mutual friend Anne unfortunately becoming an object of mutual jealousy (both women are convinced the other is in love or lust with their new comrade), the sparks fly and the bottom falls out for the pair. Sejic deftly balances his large cast and his plans for future arcs (the book couldn't be more obvious about its intentions to pair Anne off with Alan for the sequel "series") with the core of the first main arc. The crescendo of drama is great and I found myself flying through the book to see how things turn out (despite numerous flash forwards that show the pair's happy ending). Sunstone works so well due to Sejic's perfectly realized characters, which allows his series to transcend mere adult erotica into something special and accessible for any adult regardless of their interest in or familiarity with the fetish that serves as this rom-com's setting.

I love this series. The characters are very well developed, instantly grab your attention and hold on. The subject matter is handled in a thoughtful and respectful manner. Alternative lifestyles are presented in a clear way, and examined by several different points of view by different characters within the book. If this were my lifestyle, this is how I would hope the people in my microcosm would approach life. The relationships are portrayed in very a very real manner, with awkwardness and fights getting as much attention as sexiness and romanticism. The respect paid to people of all different walks of life is just tremendous. I know I repeated that point, but I did it on purpose: the writers and artists should be commended for this portrayal.

This series as a graphic novel, focused on two young women dealing with similar identity crisis's. Both Ally and Lisa have grown to womanhood all the while suppressing their personal fantasies and desires to embrace BDSM.Here the author brings these two together in a truly remarkable story where the reader cannot but help falling in love with them, and the world they exist in.As BDSM goes, this story gets it right in every way, while junk like 50 Shades of Grey got it so wrong.Buy it, read it....and you will laugh and cry to one of the most amazing love stories in print. Not to mention the life lessons you learn along the way!

Sunstone is my favorite favorite favorite gorgeous comic book smut like no other product ever, and Volume 4 is my favorite favorite favorite issue. My friends and I passed it around, and it has an honored place in my graphic novel library now. I love love love it and can't wait for the author to generate more!

It's very adult. Covers the exploration of BDSM by two Lesbian's who meet over their love of Bondage and Discipline. Portrayals as normal people with hopes and fears that enjoy the same fetish. I'd highly recommend it for anyone interested in a loving BDSM relationship.

The catharsis factor of Volume 4 of Sunstone is high. The inability to tell each other how they fell is tearing the two women apart, and Anne isn't helping.As Anne gets more and more into BDSM, Lisa tries to help her out, and ends up writing her a story about her having sex with Ally. I am now considering going back to school to get a Master's Degree in Nursing Informatics. I already have my BSN. I feel after reading the first few pages of this book I think I will. Thanks for the book. Great price AND in great condition.

Yes, this book was an easy read, but technology is moving at a rapid pace, and although this book was made in 2013, a lot of the information included in the text are already outdated. Some of the URL addresses included in this book also don't exist anymore. Some topics were also just passing fads, which just show how outdated this book already is. And as I do understand there are some people who don't know how to make a powerpoint or use a word-processing system, I don't see a reason for each of those topics having their own chapters. I think this book focused more on describing the current technology, rather than the impact and role it has towards nursing.

This is absolutely one of the worst textbooks I have ever had to read and my professor assigned every chapter! This is a supposedly 2013 copyright, yet some information is out of date and not useful. This book has no glossary and no clear definitions given for many, many important terms and concepts. This was a struggle to read. Virtual simulations are discussed barely and that is the new technology many emphasize in nursing education. The information on personal health records and EMRs was sketchy and confusing and not fully explained. This book is just awful and tortuous! Many concepts are confusing and poorly explained such as nursing informatics, health informatics, consumer informatics, which is a subset of which, etc. Just explain and define it without trying to confuse and trick the reader. This is a great book for a professor to concoct trick questions on tests and confusing, complicated questions which are irrelevant in the real world. I know--my professor used the standardized test bank that came with this book. Horrible!!

I found this book to be very helpful in understanding computers in relation to nursing. I found that it explains things really well and makes the learning easier & it explains things in a way that I found very useful. This is one of those books that I will not sell back.

This book was a mandatory purchase for one of my college courses. It is a straightforward, to-the-point book. I have taken informatics classes in the past where the books contained pages of wordy, repetitive script. Not only that, this book is light and easy to carry. The other books were cumbersome and heavy. I recommend this book to those who want well written, straight and focused information. This book will not put you to sleep.

This is an annual purchase for me. Yes, I know there is the internet to track stuff down---but do a test and try and rely on that and see how reliable it is (not). I still find after over a decade of annual purchases that Spartacus remains the best annual guide available. As I've said before, the cost remains about the same for 2 drinks in any major city on the planet (low 20s). For those which have said to me that 23-ish is way high for 2 drinks...my advice to you is NEVER move or you'll have sticker shock at going out. The rest of you know where I'm coming from. Grab the guide and go explore!

There are numerous reviews of this book here on Amazon and I can hardly add anything more!! I plan to make a trip to Italy in March 2014 and I ordered this guide at the behest of a good friend in Austria whom I plan to meet in Rome during my stay. He suggested this book because it is a comprehensive guide for the gay man who is planning to travel and "see the sights" in foreign countries. I also purchased the well known Damron Gay Men's Guide as a companion piece and I can tell you that between the two books, you will not miss anything GAY during your travels. I plan to live it up to the fullest and these two books will help you get the most from your trip!!!!! ENJOY!!!!!!!

If you are not an internet cruiser and traveling, you need this for planning purposes!Purchased this while planning a trip to Europe to replace my c. 1987 edition. That was 25 yrs ago, and that edition was very useful - especially in cities and countries that are not gay meccas. This edition has some updated material especially useful for such areas. Yes you can get similar info on line but it lacks the practical info you need to know if you are new to an area. My interest and commentary addresses Euopean destinations, and I often go to establishments in non-gay areas and like the more "rural rustic" types over 50. In that regard this guide is useful. You just have to go to the places listed and "network" to find what you really want. Nothing new there.Although he spends way too much time talking about gay lib political stuff (this is a guide primarily for travelers - so, who cares?) I do appreciate his comments on those (particularly European) areas not in gay meccas, that are not "open gay friendly" and some discretion is needed. How true that is! Particularly in Europe, where, lately, there has developed, some reactionary behaviour to the recent onslaught of gay marriage legislation (not surprising, really); here he does a useful commentary - not seen in other guides. In addition, if you are "conservative" gay, it is important to note that the gay establishments in European countries like Italy Poland Ukraine and the Balkan countries among others, can often be "too gay." In this regard, the former edition was more astute at listing non-gay bars (hotel bars in particular) and some other places where men could be met. There are less of those listings in this edition - I presume due to such potentially available guys now primarily using the net to meet. He has largely dropped the terms "twinks" and "sissies" which are useful to describe primarily gay scenes in the above mentioned countries.If you are like me, and don't plan to use the internet for meetups, and prefer to meet guys face to face in a "g" or "NG" bars (or elsewhere), this guide is still indispensible, but as far as Europe is concerned, less complete(?) then the former edition - for whatever reason; less such listings then previously in the countries mentioned, but that may be the dour reality in Europe. It certainly is the case in the "flyover country" of the US (where, incidently, as before, listings in this guide are incomplete and not updated - use some other guide for that).Loses one star for too much gay partnership talk for what should be a travel guide. I am not traveling to settle down and get married for petesakes. Save that stuff for another guide.Yes, "fine print" I affirm that I am over age 13 and, as such, am qualified to comment on this product.

I used to buy this series each year and watched the price go up while the useful information decreases with each edition. While European countries are well covered the needed info on Africa, the Middle East, South Asia are virtually absent because of draconian government laws outlawing gay life. As a recent graduate, I feel now more confident to take on new challenges after working on some basic tools such as a well-crafted resume and interviewing skills that most university programs won’t even bother to teach you. Thank you Greg and Wendy for putting this book together for many of us out there in need of guidance and mentoring.

This book had some helpful advice for a newbie museum worker which is why I bought it, but be prepared to pop this on the shelf as a reference book if you're new to the industry like me as a considerable portion of the book will only be relevant to mid-career museum workers.If you're looking for guidance and just starting out in museum work you may want to consider an alternative that focusses on aspiring and emerging professional advice.

Very good book at outlining different aspects of museums.

As a recently graduated Public History student, this book was exactly what I needed. The sections on cover letters and resumes have helped tremendously. Before using their advice, I wasn't getting any responses to my job applications. Now, I'm getting responses to jobs I thought I'd never have a chance at! Well done!

The world of museums and those who work within these organizations need to know how to move into and also navigate their own careers once within. Here is a unique "go to guide" published by AAM Press of the American Association of Museums - the organization that is a leader in its field. Stevens and Luke, professionals themselves, share their knowledge generously throughout the book. They also call on over two dozen other museum professionals who in turn provide insights, specific knowledge, and at times reveal their own stories and unique situations, thus, making this book more intriguing and personal than just a "textbook" on how to succeed in a museum career. Whether a museum lover, college student, docent or a museum professional there is something for everyone in this book to absorb and learn about in a field that is forever evolving and changing. One theme stands out loud and clear for this reader is that there is no one path with so many avenues to explore and circumvent as well. One can cherry pick or read from cover to cover. Knowing what it takes and learning from those who live it day today is priceless.

As an Emerging Museum Professional, I found this book to be an essential read as I began looking for employment. Of course there are hundreds, if not thousands, of books out there about how to format a resume, questions to ask in an interview, and styles for a cover letter. However, this book provides a very insightful look at the nuanced profession that is found in the museum world. Greg Stevens has amazing insight into what museum employers are looking for, having both worked in the field as well running the Professional Development Program at the American Alliance of Museums, which sets the standards of expectation for hundreds of prominent and renowned museums in the United States. Wendy Luke also has immense experience and knowledge, having assisted many established museums navigate precarious situations, as well as being the founder of the HR Sage, a consultancy firm started in 1990. If you are an emerging museum professional, or thinking about transitioning into the museum world, this is a must read and will provide you with all the information you need to make a good, and lasting impression; as well as navigate your career successfully.

As a senior in college, I was unsure the direction I wanted to pursue for my career. Upon reading A Life in Museums, it was not only confirmed that I wanted to work in the museum field, it gave me countless inside tips that I would not have considered nor known about if I had not read this book. Not only would I recommend this book for those who are just beginning their journey into the magical world of museum work, but also for those professionals already involved in this type of work. The authors have included tips and reminders to those more senior professionals who might have just needed a reminder or two. While it is beneficial to read the whole book, it is not necessary. It it broken into sections so one can skip around and only read what is important to them without getting lost in some sort of ongoing narrative. It is well written, easy to follow, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in working in this field.
