A hot, funny, exciting read. He is a rock musician, playboy and much more. She is hired by her friend to get him in line on the tour. He wants her but can't figure out why she just doesn't want him. It was so enjoyable to read about these two. Well written and recommended. I voluntarily review a copy for booksprout.

Fergus is a manwhore and is the guitarist for the band Blackthorn. He sleeps with every PA hired for him or scares the ones that won't sleep with him away. So imagine his surprise when he's new PA is a friend to Janie and refuses to fall in line with any of his charming offers. Harlow is tired and just wants to rest before she has to start working. However Fergus has other plans and shows up at her room and refuses to leave. So Harlow goes for shock value and strips naked gets into bed telling him that he will never have her and to order room service if he is staying. From that moment on sparks fly between them. Fergus is like a changed man and everyone knows its because of Harlow. How long will Harlow hold out before giving in to temptation with Fergus?This is an amazing story that will captivate you from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Forever Together by Angel Devlin a five-star read you wont ever want to finish. This is a stand-alone in the Ireland Forever series and they each bring a little piece of the Green Isle to us, making this reader smile from ear to ear. The Flirt Club authors have all done a great job, but Angel will always be the top of my tree. Harlow is someone I would kill to have in my life, she kicks butt, she drinks and she’s funny, so so funny. Fergus should have known he wouldn’t stand a chance!! Hell, I wouldn’t stand a chance against her, even with boxes of lucky charms made up of just the marshmallows there wouldn’t be a chance. This was such a great story and made me reminisce about the rom coms I love to watch, in particular the couple named in the story. Go buy the story you won’t be disappointed, Angel has a way with words that simply makes you smile.

I'm all smiles after this one. Fergus is the diva, bad boy of the band Blackthorn and he screws every gal that gets near him, especially his PAs. Harlow is the promoters best friend and a bad ass PA. She's be brought in to whip Fergus into shape and boy does she with her sass and class. Hurt feelings could stop it all before it truly starts but a daring move and some cheeky actions will prove that Forever Together is where this is headed.The Ireland Forever Short Stories are a themed collaborative by multiple authors. Insta-lust & insta-love are a given but are so sweet and smooth, like Bailey's & cream in your coffee. Stop for a wee bit and indulge in these Luck O' the Irish sexy tales.

This was another great story. It was perfect to read on a cold March afternoon. I love reading anything by this author.Fergus has been going through assistants left and right. His manager is done with this so she calls on her best friend to bring him in line. Harlow is at loose ends when her friend called her asking for help. She agrees and is on her way to Ireland. They did not get off to a great start but somehow work things out. Loved the story of Fergus and Harlow. Fergus is the iconic hot rock star!! He sleeps with a lot of women and makes no apologies. Robert Hirsch's survey of the origins and evolution of photography, "Seizing the Light," is a welcome addition to the expanding study of the medium. In clear, insightful, and engaging prose, Hirsch unfolds photography's hit-or-miss birth which was rapidly followed by coherent technological developments almost at the speed of light. Hirsch makes us believe that photography was inevitable; the darling and necessary child of destiny wed to information theory. And Hirsch's treatment of early 20th century Modernist photography and the philosophy behind Pictorialism is excellent.As a primer for the invention of photography and its chemical underpinnings, "Seizing the Light" is as good as it can be. It falls a little short, however, in its treatment of contemporary photography. The book would have been better served by including a few in-depth surveys of important contemporary photographic projects in order to emphasize the centrality of this discipline in contemporary art history and postmodern theory which is heavily dependent on the nature of images and processes of image-making.

History can be boring, and dry. The book starts with, as one may expect, the dawn of photography. At first, I avoided this book, letting my reading for class pile up until midterms hit and SURPRISE! I found myself needing to read half of a textbook. It was that task that lead me to love this book. I sat and read it, which at first, was painful. Then as it drew on, I realized, that I was enjoying learning the roots of my passion, and that Hirsch wrote it in such a way that drew me in, and was actually entertaining. I got a 102% on that midterm, and I went on to buy a used copy of this book when I stumbled across it.

This textbook is a wealth of information. I had no idea the history of photography was so rich. You never really think much about the history of our technology, etc the way you do about the history of people or cultures as a whole. There are several pages of pictures in each chapter to accompany all of the writing, and each chapter ends with endnotes, citations and information about the text from the chapter. The writing is very organized. I have no complaints. It's a great textbook to learn from.

Amazing book, densely packed with useful information, well written and worth the time to read it.

I'm enrolled in a basic photography history course at a community college. This is the textbook we were assigned to buy for the class. The book is well put together and full of great facts. The size is rather large but this allows for the many pictures and nice size text used in the book. The chapters flow well and the book is not hard to read. I am all around satisfied with the textbook. I also found out after purchasing it that it's available for digital download onto the Kindle. Some in my class have downloaded it and say they read it throught the day and can study on the go with the book in digital format.

This book was required for my photography history class. I couldn't of done my class without it! Very interesting and informative on the way photography has evolved over the years. I plan on reading this book over and over!

I got my product on time and a tracking number was provided for me to track the package.This is a great book to learn about the beginning of photography and even learn about photography alternative processes.Very recommendable for photographers.

I purchased this book after several hospitalizations and my getting a diagnosis of lone A-Fib. My cardiologist was very little help to me with answering my questions and he gave me next to nothing concrete to pursue a better quality of life with A-Fib, and the scare of having heart surgery (ablation)sent me searching elsewhere(that's not an option for me).Yes, the book was easy to read and comprehend (though I am a retired RN) and there were many first-hand accounts from A-Fib sufferers, but it left me hanging dry in the way of any alternative direction, opposed to a possible nutritional deficiency and surgical procedures. Apart from the medication aspect which was covered in detail, I'm pretty sure that every one of the stories told chose surgery as their main option. You mean apart from Big Pharma, ablation and surgical procedures no one has conquered A-Fib? Where are their stories?I refused to believe that those surgical procedures were the only ways to correct or solve my problem. So, while reading "Beat Your A-Fib" I gained insight into the typical patterns of patients and their treatments and the variety of surgical "cures," I felt very let down . . . none of their scenarios were what I was looking or hoping for! In fact, after reading it I became terrified of the pattern that those horrid episodes would only grow closer and closer together, and for me, that pattern seemed to be the case-- 4 mos., 3 mos., 2 mos., etc. So, I sought a consult with a Naturopathic MD. Yes! There were some answers and new supplements that could make a difference and I'm thrilled that they seem to be working! It's been five months since the last episode and I've had no episodes since I've been on the regimen scoped out for me. I feel great! Of course, time will continue to tell, but I just want to shout out that you can seek alternatives--a naturopathic way of thinking could be of great value to you with your A-Fib!BTW, Chapter 5 mentions mineral deficiencies and supplementation--potassium and magnesium are very important, (my blood work was all fine). Where are the stories of those that found a cure by strictly going this route? Listed are some supplements like CoQ10, Vit. C, taurine and hawthorne berry, but why did this discussion not continue, with dosages and therapies that work for people? Some of the main supplements that my ND recommended and worked for me are: hawthorne solid extract 1/4 tsp 2XDay, convallaria (lily of the valley) 8-10 gtts in water 2XDay and L-taurine 1000mg 2XDay, plus adding additional magnesium (covered in the book).I gave it 3 stars for leaving out an important option (for me) and not going into more detail and for not including pertinent patient stories from those taking a medication/supplemental route alone.

"Beat Your A-Fib" outlines all the treatment options both invasive & dietary. I will address the dietary because that worked for my A-Fib triggered by auto-immune issues. The book mentions a number of nutrients that should be in your diet. The important ones available from Amazon are - taurine, magnesium glycinate (a non-laxative form of magnesium), co-enzyme Q10.Learn what to eliminate in your diet - all the usual suspects: MSG, salt, sugar, & less calcium. Get the book & implement the dietary changes before proceding to invasive procedures or prescription drugs with their side effects. I liked that it is written for a lay person. I wasn’t so happy with the solutions offered. It seems pretty much all the people went with different surgical techniques, which are rather traumatic in some cases and out of reach because of cost, in others.For those of us who have insurance that doesn’t cover big ticket procedures, especially in other countries and/or work as contractors, so no paid time off, no guarantee of work when you come back...well, some of the handlings for Afib are just not going to happen.On the plus side, at least this is a no fluff look at the Condition and ways that others deal with it, with varying degrees of success.

"Israel: A Concise History of a Nation Reborn" by Daniel Gordis (Oct. 2016).Although it touts itself as a "Concise History" of Israel, the author has packed a lot of information and thoughtful analysis in this 546-page book. This is much more than a chronological time-line of the highlights regarding the creation and existence of the Jewish state of Israel. The author re-plows the basic history as to how Theodor Herzel advocated for pogrom-weary European Jews to move to Palestine. The author not only details how Eastern European Jews were divided over whether or not a Jewish state should be created, the author notes the arguments and diverse personalities that debated this challenge. (The author provides some interesting commentary as to how the American writer Mark Twain reflected upon this issue.) [This book does a better job in explaining the "workings" of the early Zionist movement than what is discussed in the recently published "Zionism" by M. Viorst.]Rather than reviewing all of the Zionist arguments here, I found that the author really provided a lot of insight as to the various Zionist and anti-Zionist arguments and how personalities were split between secularists and religious fundamentalists.. I found that the author provide new insights as to the developments in the "return to Israel" movement, and how the Balfour Declaration was born. I found that the author reviewed many sources and provided great, informative insights into how the Zionist movement campaigned throughout Europe to entice Jews to return to the Palestine region. The author provided fine insight into the political and military disputes between Ben-Gurion and Begin during the 1940s. While the author noted that the Israeli government had a very difficult time in absorbing and caring for new, and oftentimes impoverished immigrants, I felt the author failed to convey the seriousness of the really desperate economic conditions of Israel during its first decade.I found it interesting to learn that Begin had opposed Israel receiving financial "war reparations" from the West German government. Also, perhaps it was due to his remembrance of the Holocaust he resigned as prime minister rather than receive a new German official.In reviewing the various political parties, it seemed that the primary disputes were more over personalities rather than economic policies -- although Begin certainly and consistently advocated for a greater "free market" economy that was in contrast to Ben-Gurion's socialistic Labor Party. It was interesting to learn how the high large influx of secular, Soviet-Jews starting in the 1980s changed the political dynamics of Israeli politics.I was surprised to learn that the kibbutzim accounted for only about 15% of the Israeli population, and how they eventually declined in popularity and economic influence.While the various wars are discussed, and casualties are noted, the author really doesn't spend much time in providing details as to how some military unit conducted some maneuver -- except to note how it affected the outcome of a war.Yes, it is a strong pro-Jewish Israel book -- the author doesn't lament much about the plight of Palestinian Arabs, except to claim that much of their problems were of their own doing by failing to accept a peaceful coexistence with a Jewish state. While the author noted that within the occupied/administered "West Bank" [Samaria-Judea] there are three areas/zones of control or semi-control that are governed/administered by the Palestinian Authority (PA), the author doesn't dwell on analyzing the successes or failures of the PA's administration (that would take several other books to accomplish) -- except to say that Israelis themselves are deeply divided over the future "independence" of that area, and how Jewish settlements within are to be either expanded or reduced. (The author doesn't analyze the theological aspects of the Quran as to why the Muslim-Arabs won't accept a Jewish state.)The author has produced a fine book in revealing the determination of the Zionists to birth a secular, Jewish state -- and he analyzes how the original Zionist dream/hope that both Arabs and Jews could live peacefully together has not and most likely will not be achieved. This is more than just a history of Israel, it is a history -- well, for the lack of a better word -- of the "revival" of the Jewish spirit in reclaiming a homeland; or as the author put it in the book's sub-title: "of a Nation Reborn". A book that I can highly recommend.

This is a great history, essential information for any world citizen. When there is so much disinformation being spread about Isreal and the Palestine conflict every day, this is a light shining in the darkness. It is a history of Modern Israel, so that is the perspective, but the author Gordis goes out of his way to be fair to the Palestinians and Arab countries surrounding. To my mind, he went a little too far in his effort to be fair to the Arab nations, leaving out some pertinent information. But overall, this is the most balanced account I've read yet. I've been reading books about Israel and the situation there for several years, but I'm still learning, and this book is very helpful. Most Americans, unfortunately, are woefully ignorant of the history of the region, and I recommend this to anyone who wants to know the facts. This is a very inspiring story of group of people who overcame all the odds and found a place where they can be safe from the persecution of the world, Europe, Russia, and the Arab countries have a history of trying to destroy the Jews, which they have done nothing to deserve. It's painful to read about the persecution and massacres the Jews have endured down through the centuries, but their triumphs are glorious.

I flew USAF airlift missions into Israel in the Yom Kippur war, --so I have an interest in the history. Gordis has done an excellent accounting in what is actually a quick read. Very well documented with a Glossary of non English terms to aid in understanding the many foreign words and more...In today's world... --this is a must read.

For readers familiar with the history of Israel and for readers who lack such familiarity, I heartily endorse Daniel Gordis' outstanding new book. In an unusually balanced, thoughtful and concise fashion, Gordis conveys the modern history of Israel. What makes the book truly exceptional however, is the manner in which Gordis not only details Israel's history, but effectively links past with present in illuminating fashion. He details and explains the origins of many issues confronting contemporary Israel; among them its political system, the settlements, the rise of a right wing religious community, the Palestinian refugee problem and more. Although Gordis is a passionate advocate for the Jewish state, he objectively shares Israel's mistakes and weaknesses as well as its many strengths and attributes. I will recommend the book to any one whose knowledge of Israel is restricted to newspaper headlines and to biased declarations from global organizations. I will also recommend the book to people like myself; who will appreciate the book as more than just a recapitulation of modern Jewish and Israeli history.

I enjoyed "Israel: A Concise History" tremendously. It is true to its name in its conciseness. It's the only up-to-date history of modern Israel and its roots, written as objective history rather than personal reflection (see Ari Shavit's "My Promised Land"). Gordis does a great job pulling from almost every recent book about Israel as well as some of the classics like Martin Gilbert and Benny Morris. It's highly readable.

This is a truly superb history of Israel. Gordis does a wonderful job of connecting a nearly 120+ year saga into a very readable story that moves quickly. If you want to know "what's the history of Israel?" read this book. It gives you a very working understanding of the history of this remarkable nation.
