Oh my, I love this big image book! Image-dominant, love it. Beautiful. So full of interesting images all done by, the author David Sedaris, a master of words. Now we see his visual writing, just as story-telling, satirical, provocative ! Design of the book is excellent, pages arebeautifully layed out with orderly choreography of disorderly images. Typography is understated as should be, let the images sing! What a greatidea, hats off to Jeffrey Jenkins, the designer and editor !
It only has to have he name David Sedaris on the cover for me to read it. This one did not fail. Buy it - read it.
This was a surprised when I got it. It is like a reproduction of David's visual journal with lots of cut offs, photos, scripts. I realize that may be a nice piece to go on a my coffee table and go thru from time to time. Since I am a visual person, I do enjoy it more than most people who may be expecting text from cover to cover.
David Sedaris can "do no wrong" as far as I'm concerned. Absolutely my favorite author!!! I LOVE THIS BOOK (and everything else I've ever read by him!) David Sedaris is truly an American treasure.
So totally Sedaris. Great fun.
I love everything about this book. David Sedaris is brilliant and having artwork along with his writing is a real treat! The added pocket of art makes the book even better.
